What happened in Tashkent?

Illegal actions by a prosecutor’s assistant were uncovered in Tashkent, according to the press service of the State Security Service (SSS). Officers carried out a special operational operation in the capital, during which a prosecutor’s assistant from the Uchtepa district was detained.

It was reported that until September 2025, the individual had also served as an assistant prosecutor in the Shaykhantakhur district.

Under what circumstances was he detained?

The suspect was apprehended at the moment he allegedly received $15,000 from an entrepreneur. In exchange for the payment, he reportedly promised to assist in arranging the lease of two non-residential basement premises for commercial activities in the Shaykhantakhur district.

After taking the money, the suspect attempted to flee from SSS officers in his “BYD” vehicle but was promptly stopped and detained.

What charges does he face?

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of the Article “Fraud” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

If found guilty, the suspect could face up to eight years of imprisonment.
