The activities of an organized criminal group extorting money from taxi drivers operating between Tashkent region and the capital have been stopped by the Rapid Search Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the investigation, the group was led by an individual known as “Bichok,” whose members systematically insulted taxi drivers, used intimidation and physical violence, and demanded illegal monthly payments in exchange for allowing them to operate freely.
The criminal group exerted constant pressure on drivers traveling routes between Tashkent region and Tashkent city, creating an atmosphere of fear and coercion to enforce compliance.
As a result of coordinated operational-search measures, the unlawful activities of the organized criminal group were fully exposed, and its members were detained.
Investigative actions are currently underway to establish all circumstances of the case and identify any additional episodes related to the group’s criminal activities.
