Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced at the first Board of Peace meeting in Washington that his country is ready to support the International Stabilization Force in Gaza. According to him, Kazakhstan may deploy military units, including medical personnel, and send observers to a civil-military coordination center.

Tokayev stated that Kazakhstan is prepared to allocate a significant amount of funding to the Board of Peace without delay. He emphasized that the country will fully meet its financial obligations.

US President Donald Trump said that Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Morocco, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and Kuwait have collectively pledged more than $7 billion, while the United States is contributing $10 billion to the newly established body.

What Does the Reconstruction Plan for Gaza Include?

Tokayev explained that the program, largely funded by the Kazakh government and implemented through international companies, may include the construction of infrastructure, residential housing and complexes, schools, hospitals, and other essential civilian facilities, as well as debris removal operations.

Kazakhstan plans to provide 500 scholarships to Palestinian students over five years. In addition, the country is ready to share its expertise in e-government and digital development.

As one of the world’s major wheat producers, Kazakhstan also expressed readiness to provide humanitarian assistance aimed at strengthening food security in Gaza and beyond.

The president noted that sustainable development in the Middle East requires new approaches focused on building trust and cooperation. Kazakhstan has joined the Abraham Accords in support of broader peace-building efforts.

He also confirmed that Kazakhstan is prepared to host meetings at various levels within the framework of this initiative.

Tokayev proposed establishing a special President Trump award within the Board of Peace to recognize his peace-building efforts and achievements.

What Are the Reported Casualties and Infrastructure Damage in Gaza?

Since October 8, 2023, Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has resulted in more than 72,000 Palestinian deaths and over 171,000 injuries. Most of the victims are women and children, and approximately 90% of civilian infrastructure has been damaged.

Despite a ceasefire agreement, Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that at least 611 Palestinians have been killed and 1,630 injured.
