Yangi Bank JSC License Revoked: Official Statement from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan

According to Resolution No. 1/1 of the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 15, 2026, the license granting Yangi Bank Joint Stock Company the right to conduct banking activities has been revoked.

This decision was taken due to the insufficient effectiveness of measures implemented to eliminate deficiencies identified in the bank’s operations. In particular, the bank failed to increase its authorized capital to the minimum level required by law, and certain mandatory requirements stipulated by banking and financial legislation were not fulfilled.

In accordance with the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” “On Banks and Banking Activity,” and “On Bank Rehabilitation and Liquidation,” a decision was made to terminate the bank’s operations in the established manner. A liquidation commission has been appointed and granted full authority to manage the liquidation process.

Under the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Guarantees for the Protection of Deposits in Banks,” deposits held by individuals and legal entities are guaranteed by the state within the limits set by legislation.

In this regard, compensation for guaranteed deposits of Yangi Bank JSC depositors will be paid by the Deposit Guarantee Agency in accordance with the procedure and amounts established by law.

Detailed information regarding the payment of compensation for deposits can be obtained via the Deposit Guarantee Agency’s hotline at 55-550-05-00.

It is specifically noted that, according to preliminary calculations, out of a total of 32,526 depositors, 32,153 will receive a full refund of their guaranteed deposit amounts. Final and precise calculations regarding deposit repayments will be officially announced by the Deposit Guarantee Agency.

For the remaining 373 depositors, the portion of funds exceeding the guaranteed amount will be repaid in accordance with the decision of the liquidation commission and in the manner prescribed by applicable legislation.

This matter remains under the constant supervision of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan. All stages of the process will be monitored step by step, and the public will be regularly informed through official updates.
