BYD Yuan Max: First Photos Reveal a Larger New Crossover for the Yuan Lineup

Chinese automotive media have published the first photos of a new BYD crossover that is expected to join the Yuan family. Its affiliation is hinted at by the wheel design and the Yuan character displayed on the steering wheel. According to preliminary information, the model may be named Yuan Max or Yuan L.

Although the vehicle is heavily camouflaged, its exterior already shows distinctive BYD design cues. These include semi-hidden door handles, smooth body lines, and an elongated rear pillar that gives the crossover a more substantial and mature appearance.

The main intrigue lies in the size of the new model. In terms of dimensions, it may come close to the BYD Song Pro, which would mark a significant increase in length compared to the compact Yuan Plus. This positions the new crossover between segments, broadening the lineup.

Interior shots suggest a familiar BYD cabin layout. The crossover is expected to feature a floating central touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and a two-spoke steering wheel, emphasizing a clean, technology-focused design.

Launching a larger Yuan model appears to be a logical step given the strong sales performance of the series. The new crossover is designed to maintain buyer interest and further strengthen BYD’s position in a highly competitive market segment.
