Mojtaba Khamenei Survives Strike Moments Before Impact: Conflicting Reports Emerge

How did Mojtaba Khamenei survive the strike?

Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei reportedly survived the February 28 strike by the United States and Israel after stepping outside the building just moments before impact.

This information was reported by The Telegraph, citing an audio recording attributed to Mazaher Hosseini, head of protocol at the office of Ali Khamenei, addressed to commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Where was he at the time of the explosion?

According to the report, Mojtaba Khamenei was in the same complex as his father, along with his wife and son. On the morning of February 28, shortly before the strike, he stepped into the courtyard and was outside when the explosion occurred.

“He had gone out into the yard for something. He was outside and looking upward when a missile struck the building,” the protocol official reportedly said.

Was he injured in the attack?

Mazaher Hosseini stated that Mojtaba Khamenei sustained a minor leg injury as a result of the explosion. The attack was described as coordinated, with multiple parts of the office complex hit simultaneously.

It is suggested that the strike may have been intended to eliminate the entire Khamenei family.

What do different sides say about his condition?

According to The Telegraph, the audio surfaced at a time when questions were growing about the severity of Khamenei’s injuries and his ability to lead the country.

Since the conflict began, he has not appeared in public and has only issued a written statement over a two-week period.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth claimed that Khamenei was injured and may have suffered damage to his appearance. However, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected this, stating that the new supreme leader is in good health and fully in control of the situation.

What actions has the United States taken?

Reports indicate that the United States has offered a reward of up to $10 million for information about Mojtaba Khamenei.
