President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received an official letter from President of the United States Donald Trump proposing Uzbekistan’s participation in an international initiative aimed at strengthening peace and resolving conflicts in the Middle East.
According to the letter, the initiative was announced on September 29, 2025, and has received support from a number of global leaders. It is based on a comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, which was approved by United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2803 on November 17, 2025.
A central element of the initiative is the establishment of a new international structure — the Peace Council — designed to unite countries willing to take responsibility for building long-term peace, stability, and security in the region.
In his message, President Donald Trump formally invited the Republic of Uzbekistan to join the Peace Council as a founding state. The proposal highlights Uzbekistan’s growing role and credibility in promoting dialogue and international peace efforts.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a response letter to his American counterpart, expressing Uzbekistan’s readiness to participate in the Peace Council as a founding member.
In his reply, the President of Uzbekistan emphasized that the initiative is viewed as an important and timely step toward resolving long-standing conflicts in the Middle East and ensuring peace and stability across the broader region.
