Hajj and Umrah Go Digital: New Registration Rules Starting in 2026

What decision was adopted?

By Resolution No. 27 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated January 24, 2026, measures were approved to digitalize and improve the system for organizing Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. The document introduces a new, updated framework for managing pilgrimage travel.

Why was a single portal launched?

In accordance with the resolution, the “Unified Hajj and Umrah Portal” has been launched in Uzbekistan. From now on, citizens planning to perform a pilgrimage must register exclusively through this digital platform. The system is designed to ensure centralized oversight and greater transparency.

Who is required to register?

The new rules apply to all individuals intending to perform Hajj or Umrah. Without prior registration in the unified portal, it is not permitted to begin travel arrangements or documentation procedures.

When do the new rules take effect?

The resolution предусматривает a phased implementation of mandatory registration. Specific start dates are established separately for each type of pilgrimage.

From what date is registration mandatory for Hajj?

Starting from February 1, 2026, registration through the unified portal becomes a mandatory requirement for participating in the Hajj pilgrimage. Without meeting this condition, organizing the trip is not allowed.

When does the requirement apply to Umrah?

For those planning to perform Umrah, portal-based registration will become mandatory from May 1, 2026. From this date onward, all organizers must strictly comply with the new procedure.

What happens if data is not entered into the system?

The resolution explicitly states that without entering pilgrims’ information into the unified portal database, organizing Hajj or Umrah trips is strictly prohibited. This requirement is binding for all parties involved in the process.
