How Many Judges Were Dismissed Before the End of Their Term?
During the reporting period, the powers of 59 judges were terminated ahead of schedule. Of these, 19 judges were removed for violating their judicial oath and failing to comply with the Code of Judicial Ethics.
Additionally, 3 judges were held criminally liable, while 58 were demoted. Upon the expiration of their terms, 33 judges were deemed unsuitable for reappointment. In total, 266 judges were subjected to disciplinary measures.
How Were Cases of Interference in Court Activities Addressed?
Over the past year, 5 submissions were filed with the Prosecutor General’s Office concerning instances of interference in judicial activities. Furthermore, the Council introduced an online mechanism on its official website allowing rapid reporting of violations of judicial immunity.
More than 6,000 orders issued by regional court chairpersons were reviewed. It was found that 231 orders assigned 314 judges duties unrelated to the administration of justice. Concrete corrective measures were subsequently taken.
Why Is a “Judicial Administration” Institution Being Proposed?
To relieve judges of responsibilities not directly related to adjudication, a proposal was made to establish a “judicial administration” institution.
