A series of coordinated оперативные measures carried out by the Fergana Regional Directorate of the State Security Service in cooperation with customs and internal affairs bodies resulted in the suppression of illegal trafficking of narcotic substances smuggled from the Republic of Tajikistan.
In the first incident, the residence of a Kokand city resident born in 1984 was searched. As a result, 4 kg 572 g of opium and 1 kg 58 g of hashish were discovered in the kitchen area and seized as material evidence. In addition, based on geolocation data sent via a messaging application by Tajik drug dealers, a concealed stash containing 9 kg 980 g of opium was recovered from the Dangara district.
Further investigation established that another Kokand resident, born in 1969, assisted in processing narcotic substances and had organized an illicit drug laboratory in his home. During the search, 7 kg 226 g of opium were confiscated.
In a separate case in Kokand, a Lacetti vehicle driven by a local resident born in 1980 was stopped and inspected. Authorities found 5 kg 22 g of opium, which had reportedly been purchased earlier for 34,000 US dollars. Operational measures were continued, leading to the detention of the seller, a Kokand resident born in 1985, and his accomplice — a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan of the same year of birth. An additional 2 kg 362 g of opium was seized from the foreign national’s residence in the Uzbekistan district.
In another incident recorded in Kokand, a Nexia vehicle was stopped and inspected in the presence of witnesses. Inside a bag belonging to a passenger born in 1992, officers discovered 982 g of hashish. It was determined that the narcotic substance had been retrieved from a previously hidden cache left by Tajik drug couriers.
The fourth case took place in Fergana city, where an individual born in 2000 was detained while selling 989 g of hashish smuggled from Tajikistan to a buyer for 150 million Uzbek soums. The narcotic substance was seized as evidence.
Criminal cases have been initiated for all incidents under Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code. Preventive detention in the form of custody has been imposed on the suspects, and investigative procedures are currently underway.
